Rosacea is a chronic, inherited skin condition characterized by redness, flushing, pimples, and, in some cases, thickened skin. Rosacea usually occurs on the face, and appears as flushing, redness and broken capillaries on the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. Adult women are afflicted more often than men by rosacea and the skin may be sensitive to lotions or make-up.  There are many treatment options available to control rosacea, including laser, oral medications, and topical creams, washes, lotions and gels.
